I am not running against Mr. Cruz and Mr. Ramos for State Representative; I'm running for State Representative for you.
I'm not going to say vote for me because I am the most qualified candidate; but I will say vote for me because I am the candidate that will place your needs, your family needs, and our community needs first.
I will not engage Mr. Cruz and Mr. Ramos in childish banter such as attacking one's character and integrity; but as State Representative I pledge to serve you, the residents of the 180th District, with integrity and character that you'll be proud of.
I am not going to be a "career" politician that represents you; rather I am and will continue to be a human service advocate that represents the residents of the 180th District.
I'm running for State Representative of the 180th District because as a resident, I am witnessing our great community descend into decay, poverty, illiteracy, high unemployment, chaos from violence, and hopelessness. And as a father who is raising a child here, I want him to have the chance to grow up without fear of walking through our streets.
I'm running for State Representative of the 180th District because my goal is to end the decay, reduce the poverty and high unemployment, stop the violence and improve illiteracy among the youth, adolescents and adults. I believe by addressing the issues head-on we will eradicate chaos and create a peaceful community based on the principals of compassion, safety, security, and hope for a lasting, and prosperous future our community.

“My Mission is Crystal Clear.”
The road to becoming State Representative of the 180th District is a long and winding road, full of pitfalls and road blocks that would make a walk through Dante's Inferno feel like a mid-summer's day stroll through the cool breezes.
Part of the process of running for State Representative is gathering enough signatures to be on the ballot. I learned recently that the signatures I personally obtained by knocking on doors of registered voters in the approved zip codes during the worst snow and rain our City ever encountered are now being challenged. In a short time, I will prove that every signature was solicited and authentic.
Not to sound like a broken record, but as I've stated on numerous occasions, I am not nor will I ever be a "career politician" because quit simply I have no interest in "playing the game."
What I am is a Human Services professional--a founder of a grass root, non-profit organization in which academic and non-traditional sports programs have been created to assist at-risk youth residing not only in the 180th District, but also throughout the great city of Philadelphia helping them to become productive citizens.
If elected State Representative in the 180th District, my mission is crystal clear when I say that I will secure funding and push for neighborhoods patrols in the community. I will address crime in the community by demanding increased police patrols and creating stricter penalties for drug dealers, pedophiles, and violent gangs. I will work endlessly and create the presence of safety in our neighborhoods as well as build a positive relationship between residents and the police through workshops and other activities. As State Representative of the 180th District I will provide the community with Literacy and GED programs and partner with local food markets, pharmacies, and retail stores to hire residents that support these businesses as loyal customers to decrease unemployment and poverty. I will obtain state/federal funding for existing quality and new grass roots after-school programs that are essential to the academic and social growth of our children. I will work to re-implement extracurricular activities back into the public schools in our communities, and lastly, I will take the steps to implement effective recreation centers in the communities for youth and adolescents.
Consequently, leading up to the May 18 Primaries, I will address the challenges ranging from the legality of signatures to challenging the status quo of "career” politicians and campaign finance reform. One thing is crystal clear; my mission to create and provide resources to the residents of the 180th District. I, like all of the residents of our neighborhood, are tired of empty promises. We want action--and as a diversified community, we are unified in our desire to live in peace, well-being, and hope for our future generations.

"The Scourge of Humanity?"
If healthcare reform fails to pass this week, then those elected officials that championed its demise will be viewed by some as the "Scourge of Humanity."
But are they?
Did the "career" politicians who sought to destroy healthcare reform do anything that they were not suppose to do? The aforementioned would argue that they fought so vigorously because that is what the overwhelming majority of Americans wanted. But we all know that that admission is "factless" and that the real reason career politicians vociferously fought to kill the bill is their support to the overwhelming and powerful “minority” of Americans that operate healthcare corporations that want no part of healthcare reform.
In their decision, are they ensuring the uneasy balance in the universe between good and evil? Are they that oppose healthcare reform evil?
But what about those elected officials that were supposed to champion healthcare reform on behalf of the majority of Americans that demand it? Why are they failing to achieve this objective? Are they in league with the healthcare corporations to not get the legislation passed? Will they tell Americans that they tried “very hard” to pass the legislation but the healthcare corporations were just too powerful, and once the cameras are turned-off, will they meet in a dark alley to collect their payment for services rendered for “pretending” to be for healthcare reform? Are those elected officials in fact the "Scourge of Humanity," or are they GOD’S, ALLAH'S, YAWAH'S, JAHOVAH’S noblest?
Legend has it that when cast upon the “wall of life,” good and evil intentions may mirror one another, and the road to hell is paved with good intentions where one can assume that the waiting list for a room in the abyss is backlogged for the next millennium. Perhaps the current tormented occupants once faced the same type of dilemma only to sellout for what they deemed to be the greater good--namely “money.”
In a short time the outcome of the healthcare debate in America will be decided which will decide if healthcare is for every American or for the very few. The road to good intentions will be debated at a later date.

"Healthcare for Every American Except for Impoverished Americans?"
So, if we leave the healthcare system in its current condition it will benefit whom? Will the current system provide effective coverage for the wealthy, the middle class, and “working” poor Americans?
Many already know that it does not provide for all three classes, and many Americans also understand that healthcare reform would support all Americans needing quality medical coverage.
So then why are we still debating?
Perhaps the debate ensues because there are some citizens in the Republic that believe healthcare should not be provided to the “working impoverished” American because they are not deserving, and in denying them they'll eventually fade into oblivion and decrease the human population.

DON’T VOTE FOR "CAREER POLITICIANS"
My name is Anthony Johnson. I am one of you.
I am a resident in this community. I am tired of complaining about the lack of services for our neighborhood, so I decided to do something about it by running for State Representative.
I am a Human Services professional who teaches at an adult career school in a Human Services program which is about helping people. Since 2006, I have dedicated myself to serving our youth in the community through the establishment of Dream Field Academy which helps underserved youth-at-risk so they may have a chance to excel instead of fail. I have been a block captain for the past two years helping my neighbors by working through the police to stop the drug dealers and violence on our blocks. I am an activist for making things better in our community. Our children are growing up here, and I don’t want them to be the innocent victims of drive-by shootings.
I am running for State Representative because I want to show our State government that the people’s needs are the only needs that should be cared about regardless of nationality, culture, or religion. Our district has been neglected by those who are elected to make our community better. We are plagued by drugs, violence, unemployment, lack of after-school programs for our children, and safety for our senior citizens.
My goal is to go to Harrisburg and demand that we be served so that our community can thrive and grow. I want our children and families to come home to safety and security. I want to stop the tide of teenagers dropping out of school because they are not supported to stay in school. I want us to take back our neighborhood and help each other to make this the kind of place that we are proud to live and raise our children in.
All I can promise you is that I will work morning, noon, and night to fight for what is rightfully ours—the right to be safe from the deterioration that is haunting us.
Please help me in my quest to rebuild Juniata Park by joining me and saying “No” to the career politicians who help themselves without helping us. Please vote for me on Election Day and send a community activist to fight for you in Harrisburg.
Let your voices be heard through ME. If you allow yourself to be suckered, in time, our community will disappear just like the lollypop sucker I am giving you!

"An Abomination from Its Infancy"
There are 3 million Americans enlisted in America's military. In the armed services, there are Americans from all walks of life such as skin heads, Nazi sympathizers, and gang bangers protecting our borders who brazenly wear their tattoos and flash gang signs, but they are not dismissed from serving in the military.
However, when it is discovered, and in many instances, illegally, that some of America's brave soldiers are gay or lesbian, they are discharged from serving their country.
What's wrong with this picture?
What if 1 million of those 3 million serving in the military were gay and lesbian? What if 2 million of those 3 million serving in the military were gay and lesbian? Would "career" politicians relieve them of duty in protecting America because of their sexual orientation?
Conversely, the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" rule was an abomination from its infancy, and those who once championed its implementation are now realizing the error in their philosophy.
It is time to end this despicable rule.

"I Will Not Either."
Abraham Lincoln was not a "career" politician. George Washington was not a "career" politician. Ben Franklin was not a "career" politician. John Adams was not a "career" politician.
Three of the four mentioned were framers of the new republic. The forth, Lincoln, was postmaster, a rail splitter, a land surveyor who served as a legislature then practiced law years before becoming President of the United States.
Serving as an elected official is both honorable and noble, yet none of the aforementioned made politics nor expected the next generation of Americans to make it a career.
When Thomas Jefferson died exactly 50 years to the date that the Declaration of Independence was adopted, on his tombstone was a list of his lifetime achievements/careers. Mr. Jefferson did not list on his tombstone President of the United States as one of his "careers."
