"Do You Not Understand?"
The Philadelphia School District is poised to close additional schools for students on the verge of becoming drop outs in addition to eliminating funding for remedial disciplinary programs in order to close a $629 million budget deficit.
Do you get it? Is this clear to you, or do you still need the proverbial house to fall on you to wake up?
There are elected officials that sit at the head of the government on every level in the Republic that believe that providing funding that is necessary to properly educate our youth is simply not a solid financial investment.
The stripping of funds and closing of schools that support students, at-risk students and dropouts serves absolutely no effective purpose. Further, invoking the asinine excuse that by eradicating kindergarten, academic, art and music programs will lower the deficit is "criminal". Criminal! Who benefits from the systematic obliteration of education in Philadelphia, Detroit, Wisconsin and throughout the Republic? I know one population that will not benefit from this macabre behavior.
So, by decreasing funding for education while increasing funds for the construction and expansion of prisons will somehow transform America into an intelligent, safer, greener and productive society? At the rate that education is becoming extinct in Philadelphia and throughout the Republic, it is not a matter of how; merely a question of when the United States will descend into complete anarchy and ignorance.
