“Final Chapter”

Bin Laden is dead! We cannot deny the inner peace many citizens of the Republic may currently be enjoying. Bin Laden murdered innocent people and spent the next 10 years broadcasting his dastardly deed to anyone who would listen.

One of Mr. Obama's goals was to capture, or in the words of one my students-- "Slump" Bin Laden; he was dealt the latter. Had Mr. Obama took the attitude that Bush had at the time of his presidency which was "Bid Laden may never be found," he still would have been making poorly acting videos spewing his hatred for America and threatening us with more terrorist attacks. It appears Mr. Bush wasn't keeping America as safe as he was keeping the now extinct Osama Bin Laden.

Mr. Bush, arrogantly, turned his attention away from the person who delighted in the massacre of more than 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001 and instead, went after Saddam Hussein, a devious man in his own right but who had nothing to do with what I call my generation's Pearl Harbor. Mr. Bush would then dupe more than 60% of the citizenry and its elected officials into going to war that's still costing the lives of thousands of American soldiers and bankrupting the Republic.

Had Mr. Bush kept his eyes on the prize--which was Bin Laden and had more Americans held him accountable it never would have taken more than a decade of locating a man hiding in cave after cave in the mountains of Pakistan. President Obama completed in 3 years what Mr. Bush couldn't do in 8 years which was to bring an end to a man that altered the lives us all that lived and died through that tragic and unforgettable day of 9/11.

The death of Osama Bin Laden is the final chapter of a wasted life of a man filled with self-hatred and inner turmoil. He released his inner demons on the innocent but he lived long enough to witness them rise from the ashes of Ground Zero into history, our conscious and our hearts. Bin Laden’s goal to inspire fear in us was a complete failure. It is also the final chapter of a president that placed personal objectives ahead of our nation and the safety of its people. President Bush was weak, afraid and quite possibly--willing to capitulate and sacrifice the lives of more than 3,000 innocent souls.
